come here boy…

November 17, 2009 juturna 2 comments

the morning skies… the hues – twilight and dawn
the way my glasses fog up when i sip my coffee
the way i stare when i put my eyeliner on
how i wish you were here…

the way i walk, skip and run to class
the way i lick my icecream melting away oh-so-quick
and when it’s raining, the way my elbows
invariably get wet, though my umbrella is oh-so-big
how i wish you were here…

i want you to see – me, in every moment
it sounds so selfish to say it out loud
yet darling, how i so wish you were here…

ruffling through the pages, my hair awry
barely open eyes and making my way through
the corridors, the water splashes on my face
and pristine beads of silver on my eyelashes…
when shall it be that all this no longer remains
a hope… and you are here…

twilight

March 4, 2008 juturna 2 comments

The evening light dims to the stars
We stand together, motionless, staring
out into the fading horizon afar
weaving dreams with our imagination.

Not a single word exchanged
Yet, our minds – they do converse
in languages unknown to scripts
but known only to the hearts in us.

The birds fly home, to their home
Their chitter-chatter filling the scene
We are still standing, resting – still
Only us – just you and me…

JAM

January 23, 2008 juturna 2 comments

11 30 pm, the beginning of the night
deb secy neha knocks loudly on my door
i’m not quite in a fright
except my first chem quiz’s score.

we get the fundae, ritika banging the table to often
she’s speaking like a professional, without giving me a chance to soften.

at length i break the ice
coming up with random words in a trice.
six of us initially and three passers-by join in
from what they see, its fun jammin’ :D

stuttering and pausing, i’m jammed again and again
only to jam someone else and ramble on about Jill and Jane.

the art of jamming, i finally gather
is speaking rubbish and mindless chatter
confidence should ooze with every syllable you utter
you shall be jammed, in case you stutter.

interesting rounds like alphabet
with each sentence starting with the letter next.
also others like disconnect, called ‘disco’
connect any two sentences in the history of the game,
and you’re in a fiasco.
another involving no four letter words leaves you in a fix
counting the letters before every word you speak,
you’re almost an adding whiz.
there’s simple story building, to sharpen your skills
say your sentences with panache and the others you thrill.

jamming is fun, and though i fumble
i intend to carry on and not stumble
its with continued enthu in each art you show
that you actually as a person grow.

this thing has caught on so fast,
you’ll find us freshies jamming on the mess table
even at breakfast!

can’t wait to try it out with someone very dear
maybe i’ll have to wait till the coast is clear.

ps another round of jamming is one called rhyme
each sentence you speak has to rhyme with the previous line
as you can see, i’m still down with jamming fever
though i hope in the process, i become a bit more clever :D

untitled

January 7, 2008 juturna Leave a comment

some clutter on my desk, some tears shed sitting there
some distant howls of lonely dogs, wind whistling through the eerie night.

i scribble words till they make no sense,
perhaps i’m waiting for someone to come make sense
i can’t go on, i simply can’t
and then, god heeds my prayers.

it is him – my neo, my saviour come
to whisk me away to far, far away
to neverland.

nine months on, and there are tears
tears on my keyboard
though becoming as adept to type with closed eyes
the screen burns the humour in my eyes.

typing away into the night, these million words that make up us
and yet, time and again i fail to appreciate his worth.
meaningless jokes which haunt me all night
tossing and turning, peace may not be mine

sunrise

milky white flowers
fragrance enchanting
the chirping of sweet birds
mellow, twittering

dairy milk in hand
nibbling away nonchalantly
she stares above, neck craned
the sun peeks out
between the leaves, almost hidden

the dazzling light
eyes squeezed, she peeks again
catches the brilliance between the leaves
and nibbles at her chocolate again.

lost…

August 29, 2007 juturna 2 comments

here’s what i penned this morning…

A second goes past
A minute is gone
Before she knows it
an hour has flown.

Lost in her reflections
this girl not yet of age
‘Let not this dream end,’
she prays and prays.

She thinks its destiny
May even be His intent
Whatever it may be
she is gladly content.

She smiles to herself
thanking entirely dear God
none, save one, has heard
the melody in her heart.

the unknown…

July 14, 2007 juturna 1 comment

an unknown spirit, an unconscious choice,
an unseen smile, an unheard voice…
uncharted waters, unprepared souls,
incessant thoughts, memories unfold….

impromptu beats, unmistakable coherence,
unerring rhythm, unparalleled resonance…
unfurled dreams, stories untold,
unfeigned fantasies, unstoppable flow…

undisclosed musings, in verse and prose,
an unplanned voyage to virgin shores…
unmet glances, yet, newborn faith
into the distant horizon, we set, hand-in-hand, asail…
